Harbinger = Inspiration of Sorts

I was cleaning my room today (it's a multi-day chore) and while I was organizing my bookshelves, I came across my stash of old Harbingers. So, flipping through them, I decided it's high time to draw something to submit. Hopefully this one won't be ruthlessly rejected... at least not while I'm in the room.

This is the work of about an hour or two. Amazing what I can finish when I'm feeling industrious. If only I had the same attitude about school work.

Unfortunately, this means my room still isn't clean. Ah well, such is life.

And yes, that's really all I have to say. How boring.

It's Sill Winter

Yeah. It snowed more last night--so much for nice sunny weather. My moods change with the weather, I think.  I definitely need to move somewhere sunny and warm if I don't want people to think I'm manically depressed or something similarly exciting.

Anyway, here's an appropriate drawing for the weather:

This was done last winter (I think, I really ought to date more of my drawings) with a mix of charcoal and chalk.

It was based on the view from my bedroom window.  The sky was ridiculously beautiful that evening (more than I can say about today).

So that's that!

Thoughts of Sunshine

For the past week, the weather has been teasing and pretending to get warm and sunny, while really just luring me into believing that spring is coming soon... I won't fall for it. But it's still nice to imagine that summer is just around the corner, so when mom and I went shopping, I bought a bunch of spring/summer clothes.  My favorite being a bright sunshine yellow sundress, which is... bright.  And yellow.  And cheerful.  And pretty.

It doesn't take much to make me happy.

Any way, to keep with the mood, here's a bright and sunny picture!

He's a parrot that I started drawing 2 years ago, and pretty much forgot about until my cousin reminded me that he existed.  So yesterday I finally finished coloring him and decided to stick him up here to brighten my blog when the weather turns icky and cold again.

That's all for now.  Later today I'll be heading out to Castle to lead a confirmation retreat, which should be fun. But hopefully the weather'll be better than last year, when we got iced in and were delayed 4 hours leaving for home!

Bunny.

Long story short, I decided to sew a plushie bunny for Marisa.  He's based off of some of the doodles in my Religion notebook... His name is Bunny...

...So without further ado, here's Bunny!

And yes, this IS what I do with my time.

Dragon

Here's a watercolor painting I just found.  I painted this as a birthday present for one of my best friends... 2 years ago?  Possibly 3.  We're fantastic at staying up to date on the whole gift giving thing.  Next time I see you, Laur, we'll get all caught up on the presents, ok?

Anyhoo, here's the watercolor.  (Happy early/really late Birthday Lauren!)

Now onto English homework.  I have a close reading analysis of an excerpt of "The Dead" from Joyce's Dubliners, which should be... exciting.  I like his writing, but analysis has never been a strength for me, especially not when I'm analyzing stuff like "The Dead."  Gotta keep on truckin', though!
