Here's To The Losers

The title is from the Sinatra song I'm listening to at the moment.  Couldn't think of anything else to title this post, because I'm not even sure I have anything to write about at the moment.  Oh well, I'm just a loser that way.

So, what's been going on that needs mentioning?  Hmm.  The musical is this week, Crazy for You!  Some fun music going on there.  We had our first performance, for our grade school audience, today.  Went... ok.  It'll go better this weekend, I guarantee it.

Other than that, nothing too exciting is going on...

Oh, here's a drawing of a tiger for your viewing pleasure.

He's either bored, tired, or content.  I can't decide. In any case, he isn't feeling too energetic, so he and I have that in common at least.

Ah well.  Summer is getting closer, at least.  Have that going for me.  I actually went outside today without a coat and didn't shiver!  It was a quite magical experience.

Guess that's all that needs to be said?

Many. Many. Dresses.

So, I went dress shopping this morning... and afternoon... and into the evening...  Haha.  It started out well, I went with a few friends, and I really liked the first two I tried on.  Every single formal event I've been to thus far, I have ALWAYS bought the first or second dress I try on.  It's been a rule, almost.  I can try on 30 others after it, but I always go back to the first or second one.

Similar occurance this time.  Mom met me after lunch, and we decided out of the two I had picked, we liked the second, the teal one, best.

But of course, once we got into that store, the sales lady swooped and pointed out all the other options, and I decided maybe I could find one more interesting than the teal one.......

3 hours and 50,000 dresses later, we buy the teal one.

Yup.

Here's a picture of it though.  It's in the process of being hemmed, so I don't have a photo, but I figured I might as well draw it.

The color is as close as I can make it without the dress infront of me.  And I might have taken some artistic license, too.  Oh well.  It's close.

It's ALMOST as good as the spanish-flamenco-dancer-looking dress I considered.  Red with black, white, and gold beading, ruffled bottom with a train, contrasting fabric inside... Shame it needed too many alterations to be worth the price.  Tempting, though. THAT would have been a fun one to draw.

Happy Easter

Well, Easter is actually tomorrow, but I wanted to get these drawings up.

I started these as a project to draw a street in Rome, and then decided to do two pictures: one at night and one in the day time.  The day time offered crowds, vespas, and bright colors, and the night time gave romantic lighting and dark, mellow colors.  All in all, I think they turned out pretty good.  It took me long enough (I started these weeks ago)!

So here they are!

Celebrating Holy Week with some drawings of Rome!
