I brought in my art projects to show my teacher this morning (because yes, I finally
got the summer projects done!) She seemed to like them, but only gave them a cursory glance since we were both in a hurry. She giggled when she saw the lawn ornaments one, which was... alarming. But, oh well.
The first one is of a Venician canal. I had a couple photos that I pulled things from, architecture wise. I wouldn't make a good architect. All my buildings end up slightly curved in some way. C'est la vie. Though some architects go for that look, I guess.
And this second one was the brainchild of last years art class, during which my two table buddies and I decided we would each do a pop-art painting of our lawn ornament of choice. When we decided none of us actually wanted to paint in the first place, I decided to merge the idea into a pastel drawing featuring my two favorite lawn ornaments. I'm trying to convince Mom to let me stick the flamingo I used as a model out in the yard, with very limited success.
I don't have a good photograph of the third project I did on my computer yet, but expect that one up in the not-too-distant future.
Until then!
